For vehicles with all factory emissions systems. From the factory your truck is rated at 400HP and has great spoolup and driveability already from the low inertia dual compressor turbocharger. This model is one of the quickest spooling trucks that Calibrated Power has ever tuned. They respond well to throttle input while making great power on the low end. They also control smoke well without polluting the emissions systems due to the great response from the turbo. In recent tests, Calibrated Power Solutions was able to push these models to about 480RWHP. With the long shaft design of the twin compressor turbo design, Calibrated Power is very careful about how far they push the unit to avoid overspeed while keeping an eye on A/F ratio to keep regen frequency within spec. Â Compare this 480rwhp number to 475 that was put down with the competitors full-race 200+ HP tune and it becomes clear pretty quickly that the emissions system is not a restriction to power. Â Â 6R140 Transmission Tuning While all this power is great to have, tying it together with a tuned 6R140 will give you the best experience. The wider torque curve coupled with a quicker torque converter lockup schedule means that you'll feel the engine transfer it's new found torque efficiently to the tires starting at the top of second gear. On top of the the lockup schedule, Calibrated Power has also gone through and adjusted the shift torque management alongside the shift pressure to improve the transmissions ability to shift positively with it's new found torque. The goal is to provide the smoothest power transfer possible balance with the most efficient use of the engines powerband. Â It's gentle when you're taking it easy and it means business when you're on the throttle. Calibrated Power's 6R140 tuning is always active once the tune is loaded. T/H and turbine braking function is retained similar to factory function.Â Power Levels (DPF-Present Only): All tunes can be switched on the fly with the optional FSP5 switch without stopping or turning off the truck. All dyno numbers are actual measurements from the rear tire measured in-house at Calibrated Power Solutions on their MD500 Mustang Dyno.Â Optimized Stock (+25 RWHP) - Offering refinement of timing, boost, and torque limiting tables with a small bump in overall power. Great for towing at or above the GVWR of the vehicle. Heavy Tow (+45 RWHP & 80 RWTQ) - The Heavy tow tune is designed to offer the driver as much extra power and torque as can be safely used when towing up the GVWR of the truck. Â EGT control on long sustained pulls as well as the ability of the trucks cooling system are taken into account. Â There's an emphasis on reliability under heavy use with this tune. (EGT Gauge always recommended for towing, do not exceed 1350 degrees F under sustained load.)Â Light Tow (+75 RWHP & 110 RWTQ) - The light tow tune is offers additional power over the heavy tow tune for when the truck is being used to haul medium and light loads. Â CPS usually draws the line around 8K pounds in tow. Because you're not near the GVWR, you're in less danger of stressing the cooling system and powertrain, therefore higher torque and horsepower output is allowed. (EGT Gauge always recommended for towing, do not exceed 1350 degrees F under sustained load.) Performance (+100 RWHP & 300 RWTQ) - When running unloaded it's okay to kick things up a bit and have some fun! These higher power tunes will allow the truck to hold a gear longer, improve the driving experience, and generally make you happy to look for any excuse to drive your truck. Â It's important to emphasize that tune 4 and 5 should only be used on well maintained trucks running unloaded (not towing!).Â Extreme (+140 RWHP & 350 RWTQ) - Not for everyday use, but when you need it you need it. With this kind of power your truck will become a tire shredding monster. Calibrated Power has bench marked these power levels against similar modified race trucks with off-road tuning from their competitors and none of them were able to out power them.
